Joshua Martin | All Heart. No Frills. Just Music.

From heartfelt lyrics to rugged melodies, Joshua Martin is keeping country music honest in a world that’s always changing.

Joshua Martin blends Outlaw Country, Texas country, blues, and southern rock into a compelling, authentic sound shaped by life on the road and 23 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Originally from Bloomington, Indiana, Joshua picked up his first guitar at age nine, teaching himself to play without reading music. Though he played lead guitar for decades, he only started singing in his 30s, bringing a seasoned and heartfelt voice to his original songs.

After retiring as a Senior Chief from the Coast Guard in 2022, Joshua launched his music career full-time. His songwriting is deeply personal, with every one of his 20 songs telling true stories from his life and travels. His latest release nearly sold out its vinyl pressing, earning him recognition by the Texas Country Music Association (TCMA), where his song “Find My Way” was featured in their 2025 Best of Country Picks Volume 7. He’s also an official member of TCMA, CMA of Texas, BMI, and TRRR.

Joshua’s live performances are energetic and dynamic, mixing originals and covers with influences ranging from Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings to Chris Ledoux. He plays multiple instruments on stage including rhythm guitar, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, and harmonica, adding depth to his outlaw country style. He’s shared the stage with legends like David Allan Coe, Chris Cagle, and Donny Van Slee, and has recently toured with award-winning acts like CW & Twenty Hands High. Joshua will be highlighted as a new artist at DoseyDoe Big Barn on October 15, where he’s also nominated for the Directors’ Choice CMA Award for New Artist.

With his second record, Second Chances, scheduled for release in September and plans to continue touring nationally, Joshua Martin brings a powerful combination of experience, versatility, and genuine passion to every performance, including his latest single We're Never the Same, hitting Texas radio via CD Tex on July 18.
